The activated IKK complex,
catalyzes the phosphorylation of IkBs (at sites
equivalent to Ser32 and Ser36 of IkBa), polyubiquitination
(at sites equivalent to Lys21 and Lys22 of IkBa) and
subsequent degradation by the 26S proteasome. The

The endogenous IKK complex, overexpressed IKKs, and recombinant IKKbeta efficiently phosphorylated the Ser536 residue of p65 in vivo and in vitro,
