Nm23-H1 has been shown to decrease cellular levels of active Rac1 in vivo by sequestering the Rac1 guanine nucleotide-exchange factor Tiam1
This effect of Nm23-H1 on activation of Rac1 seems to be independent of its effect on dynamin-dependent fission and does not require kinase activity
