SERPINE1 and its protein product PAI-1 are well-known targets of TGF-?? signaling.
Exogenous TGF-?? stimulates SERPINE1 expression on stiff matrices, but this effect was also attenuated by YAP/TAZ knockdown, suggesting a supportive role for YAP/TAZ in TGF-??-induced transcriptional effects
